Note: This unit is not annually calibrated. Instead, it ships with a "Calibration Standard" that is replaced every 6 months and is used for field calibrations.

The Enmet HTV Formaldemeter is a portable, hand-held formaldehyde monitor designed for industrial hygiene, healthcare, construction, and laboratory environments where airborne HCHO exposure is a concern. Using a provenΒ electrochemical sensor, it delivers real-time results with a detection range of 0.05 to 10 ppm (optional high range up to 80 ppm) and a response time of under 10 seconds,Β no laboratory analysis required. The built-in sampling pump allows multiple consecutive measurements, and the instrument stores the last 10 readings in memory for easy retrieval. Temperature and relative humidity are also available by key interrogation. Powered by a standard 9V alkaline battery and weighing just 10 oz (310g), the Formaldemeter is well-suited for routine workplace exposure assessments in medical labs, commercial buildings, mortuaries, textile treatment facilities, and more.

What is the Formaldemeter htV used for?
It measures airborne formaldehyde in real time when you need quick answers during investigations and task-based checks. It solves the delay that badges and stain tubes create β€” letting you know if formaldehyde is present right now and where it's highest, so you can act during the job.
Why use this instead of color stain tubes or badges?
It can measure many samples consecutively without ancillary equipment and provides real-time results without lab delay and cost. That makes it useful for screening, troubleshooting, and verifying whether controls reduced conditions during a task.
Is this model datalogging?
No β€” this is the non-datalogging model. If your program requires downloadable logs for documentation, confirm whether manual recording is acceptable or whether you need a logging-capable alternative.
Formaldemeter htV vs. lab sampling β€” which should I choose?
Use real-time monitoring when you need immediate feedback to guide controls or source identification. Use lab sampling when your deliverable requires method-defined exposure assessment and formal documentation. Many projects use both: real-time screening to find hotspots and guide where to place lab samples.
How should I use a real-time formaldehyde monitor during an investigation?
Use a repeatable route and sampling technique. Check likely sources first, then map the space with consistent dwell time at each point. Document location, time, ventilation, and what was happening during peaks. The value is the pattern across points, not one isolated reading.
Why do readings spike during certain task steps?
Peaks often align with source disturbance β€” opening containers, heating, mixing, or moving materials. Real-time tools are valuable specifically because they show those task-linked spikes. Use the spike timing to identify the source step, then test control changes and re-check the same step.
How much does it cost to rent the Formaldemeter htV?
Listed rental rates are $130/day and $320/week. Pricing beyond two weeks is quoted β€” contact RAECO Rents.
