The TSI PortaCount Pro+ 8038 is a quantitative respirator fit test system designed for the broadest range of respirator types, including N-95, P2, and P1 disposables, Series 100, 99, P3, and HEPA filtering facepieces, half and full-face elastomeric respirators, gas masks, PAPR, and SCBA masks. Compatible with the OSHA-approved fast fit test protocol for a 65% reduction in test time. Ideal for sites transitioning from the TSI PortaCount Plus 8020 with 8095 N95 companion. All rentals come with 25 free N95 Push Probes, more are available upon request at an additional cost.

What is the TSI PortaCount Pro+ 8038 used for?
It's a quantitative respirator fit test system using Condensation Nuclei Counting (CNC) for OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134-compliant fit testing of tight-fitting respirators, with specific support for N95 filtering facepiece workflows and the OSHA-approved fast fit test protocol.
What respirator types does the 8038 test?
Tight-fitting half and full-face respirators, gas masks, PAPRs, SCBA masks, and disposable filtering facepieces including N95, P2, and P1. Fit factor range is 1 to >10,000 (1 to 200 for N95 masks).
8038 vs. 8048 — which PortaCount should I choose?
The 8048 is built around the same N95 fit testing capability but includes the Microsoft Surface tablet and FitCheck real-time seal visualization. Choose the 8038 for a laptop-based workflow with FitPro software; choose the 8048 for a tablet-integrated setup with FitCheck.
8038 vs. OHD AeroFit — what's the difference?
Both use CNC technology. The 8038 runs on TSI's FitPro software; the AeroFit uses OHD's FitTrack ecosystem with onboard report generation. Choose based on your existing software platform and recordkeeping workflow.
What's the most common cause of slow throughput during a fit testing event?
Not pre-staging consumables. Have push probes, probe nuts, alcohol supplies, and spare wicks ready before the first worker arrives. Throughput drops sharply when technicians pause to locate supplies between workers.
