Step 1: Software Connectivity
To begin, ensure your PortaCount is communicating with your computer or tablet:
-
Initial Setup: Launch the FitPro Ultra software and enter your operator initials [00:31].
-
Wireless Connection: If the device isn't detected, check the Wi-Fi adapter on the PortaCount. A blue symbol indicates the adapter is active [01:26].
-
Connecting: Select your PortaCount from the list in the FitPro Ultra client and click Connect [02:01].
Step 2: Database Management (People & Respirators)
Before testing, you must enter the necessary data into the system:
-
Adding People: Navigate to the People menu to enter names and ID numbers of those being tested [02:30].
-
Adding Respirators: In the Respirators menu, enter the mask make and model (e.g., 3M 6600) [03:06].
-
Setting Pass Levels: Set the correct pass level: 100 for half-face masks and 500 for full-face masks [03:16].
Step 3: Conducting the Fit Test
-
Protocol Selection: Choose your testing protocol. The Fast Fit protocol reduces testing time to approximately five minutes by using only four exercises [04:07].
-
Assignment: Select the person, mask model, and specific mask size for the test [04:22].
-
Monitoring: During the test, the software guides the user through exercises while displaying real-time ambient vs. respirator particle counts [05:00].
Step 4: Analyzing Results and Reporting
-
Pass/Fail Summary: Once complete, a summary screen displays the fit factor for each exercise and the overall result [06:22].
-
Exporting Reports: Go to Fit Test History to view completed tests [07:15].
-
Saving as PDF: If you don't have a printer connected, select Microsoft Print to PDF to save the report to your device or a flash drive for easy emailing and record-keeping [07:48].
