What is the OHD AeroFit used for?
It's a quantitative respirator fit test system using Condensation Nuclei Counting (CNC) technology. It tests full-face, half-face, N95, and N/R/P series filtering facepieces in under 2 minutes per test β€” designed for high-throughput fit testing events under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134.
AeroFit vs. OHD QuantiFit2 β€” which should I choose?
The AeroFit uses CNC particle counting; the QuantiFit2 uses Controlled Negative Pressure. Both are OSHA-accepted quantitative methods. Choose AeroFit for fast CNC-based testing across a broad range of mask types; choose QuantiFit2 when CNP's independence from ambient particle counts is an advantage for your environment.
AeroFit vs. TSI PortaCount β€” what's the difference?
Both use CNC technology and are OSHA-accepted. AeroFit uses OHD's FitTrack software ecosystem and generates onboard reports. PortaCount uses TSI's FitPro software. Choose based on your existing software platform, team familiarity, and whether you need specific output formats for your recordkeeping workflow.
What's the biggest cause of failed fit tests during high-throughput events?
Poor donning technique β€” incorrect strap routing, facial hair interference, eyewear placement disrupting the seal, and rushing the initial adjustment. Pre-brief workers on correct donning before testing begins to reduce re-tests.
What should I confirm before scheduling a fit testing event?
How many workers will be tested, which respirator types and sizes will be used, and whether N95 probe supplies are needed. Throughput improves significantly when masks are pre-staged by size and workers arrive with facial hair requirements met.
What's included in the rental kit?
The AeroFit fit tester, power supply, sampling tubing, reagent-grade IPA, wick assembly and spares, probes and nuts, N95 probe tool, USB cable, particle generator and cable, hard rolling case, FitTrack software, calibration certificate, and printed manual.
What does it cost to rent the OHD AeroFit?
$310/day and $805/week. Pricing beyond two weeks is by quote. At under 2 minutes per test, the AeroFit supports high throughput β€” budget based on worker count and whether you need multiple simultaneous stations to hit your testing timeline.
