When is portable audiometric testing appropriate vs. a fixed audiometric booth?
Portable audiometers are used for on-site testing when a fixed booth isn't available. OSHA requires testing in an environment meeting ANSI S3.1 background noise limits. Verify ambient noise levels at your test location before using the AM282 on-site — if levels exceed ANSI limits, a sound booth or mobile audiometric van is required.
