The Jerome J505 by Arizona Instruments is a portable mercury vapor analyzer using atomic fluorescence spectroscopy for ultra-sensitive mercury detection in ambient air analysis, cleanup compliance, disposal, recycling, and hazardous waste site monitoring. It detects mercury from 0.05–500 µg/m³ with a resolution of 0.01 µg/m³, with three operating modes: Standard (28-second response), Quick (16-second response), and Search (real-time hotspot tracking). A rechargeable NiMH battery provides 10+ hours of operation, and onboard datalogging stores up to 10,000 samples across 100 labeled test sites with USB export.
