Initial Setup
Before downloading data, ensure the TSI Quest DMS software is open on your computer. Connect your device dock to the PC via USB and keep your dosimeters powered on during the entire process [00:28].
Step 1: Downloading Data from Quest Edge Dosimeters
The Edge series offers a streamlined download process, especially when handling multiple units:
-
Detection: Open the Download page in DMS and select the "Edge" family from the sidebar. If your unit does not appear, reseat it in the dock and click Refresh [01:01].
-
Selection: Check multiple Edge units to download data from all of them simultaneously [01:15].
-
Download: Click Download. Pro tip: Check the box to "Go to Data Finder" automatically once the download finishes [01:34].
-
Memory Management: After the download, DMS will ask if you want to clear the device memory. Choose based on whether you need to keep a backup on the unit [01:56].
Step 2: Downloading Data from NoisePro Dosimeters
NoisePro units use an infrared (IR) reader, which requires a more specific manual process:
-
Connection: Select the "NoisePro" family in the DMS Download tab and plug in your IR reader pod [04:03].
-
Communication: Place the NoisePro in front of the IR pod. On the dosimeter, press Comm, then ID so DMS can recognize the serial number [04:28].
-
Download: Once the status shows "Pending", click Download. Important: Do not move or bump the device during the transfer because IR downloads are easily interrupted and may require a restart [05:19].
-
Note: NoisePro units must be downloaded individually (unlike Edge units) [06:49].
Step 3: Data Analysis and Reporting
Once the data is in the Data Finder, follow these steps to create your documentation:
-
Analyze: Right-click the study and select Analyze. This opens the Panel Layout View with summary data panels and log data charts [02:08].
-
Customization: Add or remove data panels to tailor the view to your needs [02:32].
-
Report View: Click Report View at the bottom for a simplified, professional layout [02:44].
-
Exporting: From Report View, print the document or use Save As to export a PDF for sharing with co-workers or clients [03:12].
