Pre-Setup Requirements
Before managing your devices, ensure your workstation is ready:
Software Installation: Download and install the Honeywell Safety Suite Device Configurator (standard for standalone PCs).
Hardware Connection: Connect your gas monitor to the PC using the appropriate USB travel charger or desktop cradle.
PC Communications: Ensure the device is powered on. Some monitors may require you to enter Communications Mode in the onboard menu to be discovered [00:45].
Step 1: Discovering and Syncing Your Device
The software must "see" the instrument before you can make changes:
Device Discovery: Click the Refresh or Scan icon in the top navigation bar. Your instrument's serial number and model should appear in the device list [01:15].
Connecting: Double-click the device to open the Instrument Summary page, which shows current sensor status and battery life.
Step 2: Configuring Alarm Setpoints and Settings
One of the most common uses for Safety Suite is customizing safety parameters:
Settings Tab: Navigate to the Configuration menu. Here you can change High/Low Alarm limits, STEL, and TWA setpoints.
Sensor Selection: You can enable or disable specific sensors (e.g., turning off the LEL sensor for a specific project) or change the Correction Factors for PID sensors.
Upload Changes: After making edits, you must click the Upload to Device button to save the new settings to the physical monitor.
Step 3: Downloading Data Logs and Calibration Certificates
For compliance and safety audits, retrieving stored data is essential:
Data Log Retrieval: Click the Download button to pull all stored exposure data from the instrument's memory [02:10].
Calibration History: Go to the Calibration/Bump History tab to view past successful calibrations [03:45].
Generating Certificates: Select a specific event and click Export to PDF to create an official Calibration Certificate [04:10].
